U.S. Customs Dog Bites Child at Dulles Airport | Virginia Dog Bite Attorney

On February 18, 2010, a four-year-old girl was bitten by a Belgian Malinois working as a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) dog at Dulles Airport.

We do not know what exactly happened to cause the dog to bite the girl. We’re still trying to get to the bottom of what happened.
- Kelly Ivahnenko, CBP spokeswoman

The Belgian Malinois was on training when it bit the child in the domestic baggage claim area at Dulles. The child sustained a bite to the abdomen and lacerations.

As the reason for this dog attack is unclear, Kelly Ivahnenko of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol reports that dog bites are uncommon for CBP patrol dogs and they will investigate the matter to prevent this from happening again.
