Tata Nano – World’s Cheapest Car Coming to USA | Prince William Personal Injury Attorney
The Tata Nano is considered the world’s cheapest car and hails a sticker price of $2,500 in India. Although Tata Motors hopes to have the Tata Nano on American roads within the next three to four years, that sticker price may significantly increase to possibly $8,000 to make the vehicle compliant with U.S. safety standards and emission standards as well as to meet the standards of the American driver that is more accustomed to a more comfortable, faster car with lots of options.
Improvements that would need to be made to this amazingly small 2-cylinder mini car that seats four include, but are not limited to, the addition of airbags, safer and more comfortable seats, a stronger roof in case of rollover crashes, and the ability to go faster than its current top speed of 65 mph.
At first glance, the Tata Nano appears to be a very basic and cheap car. However, the Tata Nano was intended to provide a cheap alternative mode of transportation to a working class family in India that was accustomed to riding on a scooter.
If the Tata Nano is able to make its way on the U.S. market, it could give other “green” cars a run for their money by offering a small sticker price and a budget friendly fuel economy of 50/70 mpg.
