Virginia Department of Transportation Urges Drivers to Reduce Speeds in Work Zones

Every year, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the transportation construction industry participate in National Work Zone Awareness Week.
In 2009, the program is scheduled for the week of April 6-10. 
The theme for this year, which is the 10th year of the program,  is “Drive To Survive, Our Future Is Riding On It.”

Amherst Boy Suffers Severe Burns in Possible Case of Child Abuse

In what appears to be a case of child abuse, a 2-year old boy sustained serious burns to his legs as a result of being placed in a bathtub. 
After being examined in Amherst Hospital, the youngster was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for specialized care.
