Owners of the product are urged to only use the Nap Nanny recliner on the floor, and take appropriate action depending on what model they own:

The cribs were made in China and sold at Walmart, Amazon.com and various baby and children’s stores nationwide from January 2005 through February 2010 for about $60.

Clips attaching the top “tent” can come loose or snap off, causing children to become stuck between the tent and the playard. If you have this crib in your home, you should stop using it immediately. The CPSC has received reports of at least one incident of fatal strangulation. Contact Tots in Mind via their website or by calling (800) 626-0339 for a replacement crib product. The CPSC is also interested in receiving incident or injury reports on this product here.

Keep in mind that if you have this crib and no longer use it, you should still get the replacement clips. It is illegal to attempt to resell any product that has been recalled.

This is a voluntary recall following new rules issued by the CPSC in May 2010. The rule, effective December 21, 2010, states that walkers will be required to either have features, like a gripping mechanism, to stop the walker at the top of stairs, or be too wide to fit through a standard doorway. These walkers do neither.

The CPSC has not received any reports of injury or incident due to these walkers.

The walkers were sold in stores between January 2007 and December 2009. They are marked with item numbers WK110 or WK112 on the side of packaging.

This is the latest in the recent wave of children’s product recalls. Please note that even though there have been no reported injuries and this is a preemptive recall, it is now illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. is recalling approximately 447,000 Dorel Infant Car Seat/Carriers due to injuries reported when the handle on the carrier broke or failed causing the seat to fall while carried. The infant car carriers included in this recall were manufactured from January 6, 2008 through April 6, 2009 and sold as part of a travel system branded under the names of Safety 1st, Cosco, Eddie Bauer, and Disney. On November 23, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada issued the largest recall of 2.1 million drop-side baby cribs made by Stork Craft between January 1993 and October 2009 following reports of the suffocation deaths of four children. This is the largest crib recall in U.S. history and the second Stork Craft crib recall this year.

Owners of Stork Craft drop-side cribs that are part of the recall should stop using the crib immediately and contact Stork Craft toll-free at (877) 274-0277 or at www.storkcraft.com to obtain a free repair kit.

Child safety advocates have been pushing to eliminate the production and use of drop-side cribs since five million drop-side cribs have been recalled in recent years due to reports of numerous children that have died from suffocation or have sustained injuries from falls or entrapment when the drop-side portion of the crib became detached. Some retailers, such as Babies ‘R Us, have announced their concern over the problems of the drop-side style crib and will no longer carry them in their stores.
