The Florida Times-Union is reporting that Jacksonville Jaguars football player Quentin Groves has been accused of causing a car accident involving two other vehicles when he was on his way to catch a plane to travel with his team to Seattle on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Witnesses reported that Quentin Groves left the scene of the accident but apparently will be issued a warning for improper lane change rather than a charge of hit-and-run which Jacksonville locals have deemed outrageous and preferential treatment of a NFL football player. Although Groves’ Cadillac Escalade was drivable after the accident and he was healthy enough to play in a football game with the Jacksonville Jaguars against Seattle on Sunday, the other two drivers were not so lucky suffering injuries with significant damage to their vehicles.

Quentin Groves issued an apology for the car accident which has been quoted by First Coast News:
