The cribs were made in China and sold at Walmart, Amazon.com and various baby and children’s stores nationwide from January 2005 through February 2010 for about $60.

Clips attaching the top “tent” can come loose or snap off, causing children to become stuck between the tent and the playard. If you have this crib in your home, you should stop using it immediately. The CPSC has received reports of at least one incident of fatal strangulation. Contact Tots in Mind via their website or by calling (800) 626-0339 for a replacement crib product. The CPSC is also interested in receiving incident or injury reports on this product here.

Keep in mind that if you have this crib and no longer use it, you should still get the replacement clips. It is illegal to attempt to resell any product that has been recalled.

If you or a loved one has been affected by an accident caused by a defective product, whether or not a recall has been issued, you are probably dealing with a lot more than just hospital bills. Hiring an attorney should be a very informed decision. Consider requesting your free copy of our special report on insurance coverage, Caught In the Act, to ensure you are doing everything you can to protect your rights.

This is a voluntary recall following new rules issued by the CPSC in May 2010. The rule, effective December 21, 2010, states that walkers will be required to either have features, like a gripping mechanism, to stop the walker at the top of stairs, or be too wide to fit through a standard doorway. These walkers do neither.

The CPSC has not received any reports of injury or incident due to these walkers.

The walkers were sold in stores between January 2007 and December 2009. They are marked with item numbers WK110 or WK112 on the side of packaging.

If you have one of these walkers, please contact either Suntech or the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a full refund.

Suntech’s Recall Hotline: (888) 268-8139
CPSC Recall Hotline: (800) 638-2772

This is the latest in the recent wave of children’s product recalls. Please note that even though there have been no reported injuries and this is a preemptive recall, it is now illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. If you’ve got this sitting around unused somewhere, you should remove it from your garage sale pile and call Suntech for a refund instead.

Keep checking this blog and the CPSC website for updates on product recalls. If you or a family member have been injured due to a product defect, whether or not a recall has been issued, know what your options are.

After a month of investigating, Chrysler is voluntarily recalling 34,631 Dodge Caliber and 90 Jeep Compass vehicles in as a result of problems with sticking pedals. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has been investigating the problem for about a month now, however no accidents linked to the vehicles have been reported. The vehicles being recalled are 2007 models.

The pedals were supplied by CTS and similar to the ones which triggered the Toyota recall earlier this year.

CTS experienced manufacturing problems between March and May of 2006, affecting some of the cars released. According to Chrysler, only about 1/3 of the recalled cars are actually expected to have problems.

The National Highway & Transportation Safety Association announced today that Bridgestone has recalled ~768 tire units imported between 2006 and February 2010.

The affected units are Bridgestone B390 205/6R16, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 245/45R18 XL, and Bridgestone Turanza ER30 205/65R16. The tires are missing labels, which could result in under or overinflation, which can greatly increases the risk of crash.

Bridgestone will attempt to notify owners and will replace the tires free of charge. Owners may contact Bridgestone at 1-800-465-1904 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

Improper tire inflation can effect car balance, overall wear, and fuel consumption, but most importantly, it greatly increases your risk of accidents.

More than 1 million baby slings are being recalled due to suffocation risks associated with their use. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with Infantino LLC have announced a free replacement program for the Infantino “SlingRider” and “Wendy Bellissimo” models.

Earlier this month, the CPSC issued a warning regarding the risks of these carriers to infants.

Now, a full recall is in effect for these models, following the news of three infant deaths directly associated with their use. For a full list of the recalled models, click here.

The Infantino SlingRiders were sold at WalMart, Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Babies R Us, BJ’s, Wholesale, and various other baby and children’s stores. The Wendy Bellissimo carriers were sold exclusively at Babies R Us.

If you own one of the recalled slings, stop using it immediately. You should not attempt to fix the carrier. For a free replacement product, call (866) 860-1361. The CSPC is also still interested in incident or injury reports related to this product—contact them here.
